THE DYER COUNTY FAIR…
Community participation at its best:
In 1990 the Dyer County Fair relocated to Community Park Road in Dyersburg. Volunteers throughout the County came together to make the new fairgrounds the best it could possibly be. Individuals, county government and local business supported the project with their time, talent and financial resources. The First Citizens Amphitheatre represents the bank's financial commitment to the project.
In the summer of 2008, local citizens again came together with inspiration and created "Sorghum Valley," a small town reminiscent of the early 1900's. Sorghum Valley is located in a majestic wooded area adjacent to the Fairgrounds, connected by a covered bridge that spans a small creek. Standing proudly in the middle of downtown Sorghum Valley, First Citizens Bank reflects the architecture of the building that housed the original bank in the early 1900s.
