Tennessee Rehabilitation Center (TRC)
The Tennessee Rehabilitation Center (TRC) at Dyersburg provides services that lead to employment for persons with disabilities and are designed to meet their individual needs.
- Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation - determines work interest and abilities and provides career exploration and planning
- Employee Development Services – allows the client to perform actual work for area businesses, build physical work tolerance and learn work skills and gain work experience
- Job Development and Employment - client receives instruction in job readiness, resume development and assistance in job search
The TRC can also provide assistance and information to area businesses regarding tax incentives, ADA, disability awareness and job accommodations and accessibility.
One must first be referred by a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to receive TRC services.
An individual with a physical, mental or emotional disability may apply directly or be referred by another person or agency. Eligibility is based on: 1. Having a physical or mental disability that constitutes or results in a substantial impediment to employment, 2. Being able to benefit from VR services to reach an employment outcome and 3. Requiring VR services to prepare for, obtain, keep or regain employment.
Services available include: Diagnosis, Counseling & Guidance, Treatment, College/ Training, Maintenance & Transportation, Transition Services for High School Students, Personal Care Assistance Program, Independent Living Services, Assistive Technology, Supported Employment, Job Placement and Post-Employment Services
